Painting – Makarios

I had some down time recently to finish a painting I had been working on. Well, to be honest, it was a painting I had given up on, and I had an hour or two of down time to start over and do something different.

The “painting” is done on the bill of a Hundreds “Rosewood” snap-back that reads, an old-Greek word Μακάριος (makarios) meaning supremely blessed, fortunate, well off. I also happen to have this word tattooed on my fore arm. It refers to a biblical joy of being blessed because of Christ and as a result should be fully satisfied no matter the circumstances.

“Makarios is the one who is in the world yet independent of the world. His satisfaction comes from God and not from favorable circumstances.”
