I first discovered Japanese artist, Haroshi, via highsnobiety. He was being featured on this particular blog for a trophy that he created for skateboard competition, Battle Of The Berrics V. He is known for his uniquely made sculptures crafted from old skateboards. Hit the link to see more of his work.
As you may, or may not know, skateboards are already processed works.
He creates these sculptures by taking the already processed skateboards and cutting and shaving each board into many thin layers. He then stacks, re-shapes and re-polishes the thin layers into the shape of the sculpture. Of course it’s probably easier to watch the video below.
